Calgary Stampede - DTA - Breakfast Committee
The Calgary Stampede Breakfast Committee, part of the Downtown Attractions (DTA) Committee of the Calgary Stampede, is a volunteer group I’m proud to be a part of. I joined in 2017, following in the footsteps of my dad and brother, who were already members.
In my second year, 2018, I was honored to receive our Above and Beyond Award for my dedication and contributions. Over the years, I’ve consistently put in 40–60 volunteer hours annually.
In 2019, I built a volunteer portal for the committee, which has since been used by my committee and others on the DTA as a central platform for event and volunteer scheduling, registration, and coordination. This system continues to support our organization in keeping volunteers connected and events running smoothly.
In 2025, I was invited to join our leadership team as the 3rd Vice Chair, an opportunity I’m excited to embrace as we continue to grow and evolve.
Our work focuses on hosting pancake breakfasts both during Stampede and in the months leading up to it. For about two months before Stampede, we serve free breakfasts twice a week at local elementary schools. During Stampede, we provide corporate breakfasts for a fee — and since the Calgary Stampede is a non-profit, these events support our mission while keeping the spirit of community alive.

CIRC - Canadian International Rover Competition
The Canadian International Rover Challenge (CIRC) is an annual university rover competition held in Drumheller, Alberta, where student teams from around the world design and build rovers to take on Mars-like challenges in Alberta’s Badlands.
I first volunteered with CIRC in 2025, serving as an assistant judge for one of the competition’s events. The experience gave me a new appreciation for the creativity, teamwork, and technical skill that go into the challenge.
While I have not competed in CIRC myself, I have committed to supporting the organization as it continues to grow. I will be joining as an organizer in the future, with plans to help by building a dedicated volunteer portal website (similar to the one I created for my Stampede committee) and eventually contributing to the design of competition tasks.

Football Coaching - Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School
Football was a big part of my high school years, and I truly valued my time on the field. Unfortunately, an injury ended my playing career — but it didn’t take away my passion for the game. Instead, I decided to give back by coaching, and the very team that once coached me welcomed me onto their staff.
I began coaching in the fall of 2012, right after graduating from Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School in Calgary, where I had also played. I worked with the junior team (Grade 10 students), running practices every day after school for about an hour and a half. Over four seasons, I served three years as the Offensive Line Coach and one year as the Offensive Coordinator.
In my very first year, we won the city championship for our division — a highlight I’ll never forget. I continued coaching until my university workload became too demanding to balance with the commitment, but my time on the sidelines remains one of my most rewarding experiences.
